HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOOGLE!!!

I'm not a windows fanboy but I've been anticipating a Microsoft rebuttal commercial to all the mac ad's. I get this. Those mac ad's make me hate John Hodgeman and I love John Hodgeman. John should use his comedy to defend windows and argue that it might have some crap releases from time-to-time but at least it's not a dumb downed, shiny, non-upgradeable piece of shit who's company now sell computers that RUN WINDOWS! I know what you are thinking. "The Mac os is better for graphics applications". I don't give a fuck.

/sigh /sigh /sigh

That picture right there folks is what is causing my triple /sigh. I thought this was our year, I thought for sure in 2009 the Democrats would take over the white house, we would have our first African American president, and changes would be coming in waves. Everything was in place, and Obama even picked my boy Biden (my initial hope for the democratic nomination 2 years ago) as his running mate. Everything was perfect....till John Mccain made the best decision of his entire life. How could McCain capitalize on the democratic riff caused by the Obama/Clinton fued? It's simple really....pick a woman running mate. Not only were the Clinton followers so stupid as to already be leaning McCain's way with their vote, out of idiotic hatred, but now they have a reason with a woman running mate.

Now it's not only depressing that the democrats are probably gonna lose the election, it's actually mind blowing. I have sooooo many of my friends, who I presumed were pretty intelligent, who for some reason are planning on voting McCain this year. How the fuck can you hate Bush, well at least present it that way, and yet you are voting for Bush 2.0-older, more conservative, and even more war hungry. You guys realize he has roughly a 90% Bush favorable voting record? Don't even get me started on these fucking Hillary fans who are sooooooooooo fucking upset she didn't win the nomination they have said they are gonna vote for Bush.....McCain I mean, my bad I get confused sometimes because their stances and ideas are so similar. Do those idiots not realize how the political process works? I'm gonna try and explain this the best way I can, with an analogy.

You have two teams playing each other in football, and they hate each other. Let's keep it simple and say blue vs red. It's the 4th quarter and the game is tied with 2:00 left in the game. Blue has the ball and the quarterback tosses it up towards his receivers. A receiver catches it and is about to score a touchdown, when one of his own teammates gets so angry that he wasn't the one to catch the touchdown pass and win the game that he tackles him out of anger and resentment. Now blue team doesn't score and red team wins the game. That's what the 2008 election is gonna look like in history unless something remarkable happens. If you vote for McCain in '08 I hate you, seriously hate you, and I don't know why we are friends (obviously exaggerating of coarse). None of you guys are even in a social/economical situation to even vote republican, besides the fact that your parents did/do vote republican. I'm tired of talking to friends who pretend to care about politics and still say shit like "well I'm voting for McCain because I just don't know anything about Obama." He's on the news 24/7, he wasn't my first choice (it was Biden, then Clinton, then Obama) but after actually listening and paying attention to what he has to say I became a fan. The point is though, any choice is better than another Bush, ANY choice.

Job Security

Come on, babe, come on!

Thursday is when Katrina hit three years ago.

Come on babe, hit those warm soupy gulf waters and get bigger. A landfall in MS or AL would be nice. No casualties, I just want a big mess. The only downside is gas will probably go to five dollars a gallon for a couple weeks. When Katrina hit, gas went up a dollar to three dollars in a state of emergency. Now it's more than three dollars, so if it were another hurricane in a state of a emergency, five dollars seems like a good gas estimate to me.

Then again, this could just cut way east and hit Florida. Oh well, I'm not a big fan of Florida in the first place. At least Atlanta won't have to worry about a water shortage after Fay probably replentished their main source of water and Gustav is looking like it will lend a helping hand as well.

Posting my bike soon. Every new part is now it. It's riding great. Well, my wheel is completely slammed and my chain is tight. As soon as my chain stretches some, my drive train will feel perfect and will stay secure. My white chain is ballin, too.

Anyway, I think I'm going to write Brent soon. I heard he request BMX magazines, because apparently he gets reading material. Oh, and I heard he got to watch some of the Olympics in there. Maybe he got to see the BMX, which ruled. 45mph at the bottom of the starting hill before the first jump. It would suck to crash on the first turn at that speed. May as well jump out of a moving car at 50mph and have about the same likelyhood of being injured.

Riding the skatepark today. I may try to film myself a little bit. Hopefully no retards will knock over my tripod.

If you did not notice, I made the page show more posts than it used to. I'm not sure if this slowed loading time much. It loads quickly for me in IE7 and Firefox. The view all news and the search news works now, too, and it used to be broken. That's pretty awesome.

New Computer - Bye Bye Old Alienware™

Well, I bought a 32gig USB flash drive and saved all my music, my pictures, and my personal documents along with all my mom's documents dealing with my paralysis and my rehabilitation and what not. My computer kept lagging up and freezing for a second every now and again, so I decided to reformat. Once I fdisk'd that mofo, my computer wouldn't reload windows.. corbs

Anybody watch the roast of Bob Saget? I was happy to hear they actually picked someone worthy of being roasted. I couldn't take another roasting of Pam Anderson or Flavor Flav. I was expecting them to pick Tila Tequila or the Numa Numa guy. Long story short, all the comedians stepped it up and brought some funny to da table. Go check it out, even if only for the many offensive Mary-Kate and Ashley jokes.

What about them Olympics? Michael Phelps is tight but what about ole' Bolt?

I'm a media whore...

I'm working some overtime this weekend.

Tropic Thunder was opposite my prediction. Awesome.

Are marijuana prices rising everywhere or just here? Thank god most of my people like pirated dvd's. I = barterer.

More Inspiring News..

This is an e-mail I got from my mom:

I spoke to a researcher at Johns Hopkins. He told me that they are going to be conducting clinical trials with stem cells on acute transverse Myelitis. If the trials are successful then perhaps treatment could be available in a few years. If the treatment works on TM (and it will) then it should work on paralysis in general.

My mom talked to a doctor that said that since my spinal cord isn't torn or severed that the bone fragments in my spinal cord could be causing compression on the spinal cord and make it worse over the years, which could be causing me to not have any return. Pray to Jesus, everyone, Our Father, Who Art in Heaven.

Sorry I haven't posted lately

I know this site kind of relies on everybody posting, and even though I stop in briefly to see what's new, I haven't felt creative or interesting lately. I'll just give an update, I had my car repossessed one week ago and finally got it back Wednesday afternoon, after quite a lot of hassle, between walking/biking almost 4 miles to/from work each day, and to locations to send western union from, etc, I've had a rough week. For somebody who's in decent shape like I'm sure you BMX'ers are, that probably wouldn't be that bad, but I'm an old dude and I spend my 8.5 hour shift sitting at a computer and then usually come home and sit at this computer, and I've let myself go. So it did feel good to actually get the workout, but it was just a long week. Now the car is back, it's mine, and my mom did me the favor of paying off the rest of the loan, about $9000 or so, so I can just pay her and not have to worry anymore. I need to take the time in the next few days, maybe while I'm bored at work, to write Brent a letter and get it mailed out. If I mail it out Monday, he'll still be at the same address, right? Hope things are alright with everybody else, I look forward to having something interesting/funny to post here soon.

tl;dr: it's been a shitty week

in closing I'll leave you with this awesome news which goes along with my claim of that Bigfoot in a freezer looking totally fake from day 1:

Bigfoot is a hoax, two DNA samples taken from the remains were shown to be human and opposum. Also the two guys who were trying to say they found Bigfoot just so happen to be retailers of Bigfoot merchandise... what a coincidence!

No note is entered.

Good street video Jeremy noticed that actually isn't on The Come Up front page yet (edit: now it is):

WHAMMO MIXTAPE from Whammo on Vimeo.

I think I may end up learning 360s before manual-to-180s. I rode really solid at the park yesterday. I have done several new things, and the half pipe is getting more and more comfortable to me to the point that I feel like I need to start relearning tables on there.

I 180ed off the side of a ramp at the park. I think it's the highest thing I have ever 180ed down but I'm not sure. It was purely height -- no distance. While I'm getting better and doing more park stuff, I still do random street shit at the park. I mean, who else avoids a transition to 180 off something to flat at a park besides a street rider? I've also dialed in my opposite feeble to 180s at the park. They feel so smooth and satisfying.

My bike looks super dialed right now. I put all new stickers on it, but I still need to get my LOL BUTTS sticker from my mom's. Once I put my new wheel on, I'll post some pictures of my new ride. Sooooooo nice.

Oh yeah, Pineapple Express is out. And I just started reading The Sun Also Rises. Hemingway for the win.

A coworker recommended these awesome videos to me:

Haven't watched them yet, but I'll assume they're mind expanding (possibly).

This website is pretty cool to see how many felons live in or around your neighborhood, and you can see who they are and what they did. I found it amusing, so I figured I'd share the goodness.

By the way, I have massive woodness right now. (That's a hint to you, Mr. Poo)

Loose Spokes, broken driver

I've been riding a lot lately -- park and the streets. My driver is blown. When I took it off, shards of metal fell out of it along with a few of the ball bearings. I can't get my 9t driver to screw all the way in, despite looking exactly the same despite the length. My loaner cassette wheel's spokes are super loose, to the point that you can feel the wheel flex when you're sitting down. I'll try to fix my bike this weekend.

I'll probably end up order this hub, laced to a 7KA rim, with some Shadow spokes or something. I want to get it from Empire, but their will builder isn't there right now. So it will probably have to come from Dan's.

Adjusting slack without taking my wheel off will rule. I'll overlook the companies shitty name for that.

I took some pretty rowdy pictures of the moon two weeks ago from my balcony:

At least poker has been profitable, and I can afford this last part to my basically all new bike. I'll post pictures of that when I take off some of the stickers and get it all plush looking.

I had to post this video, because the first clip is nuts, and all of the street in it is super good.

God Damn It

My cd burner keeps having an error about 47% into the burning process.. I've done everything I can possibly think of doing. I've used every program I can think of using.

Help?

/edit - If anyone knows anything about error files that Nero produces, here's my log file that shows when (and possibly why?) my cd burner would have an error.

it's like god's vagina.

I knew nothing about this movie until yesterday and it comes out in a few days. The tv trailer was vague and in essence just showed close-ups of Seth Rogen followed by, "From the guys who brought you SUPERBAD" in that deep narrator voice. After looking it up online I realized the movie is going to be bananas.

Joe Rogan is awesome too.

Asking a favor of you guys

I don't know how many of you I've really talked to about it, but my mom has been battling cancer the last few years and had to have two mastectomies. She's a pretty strong person and is doing well right now, done with chemo and all that from the second mastectomy for now. I believe they still plan to take her ovaries as well. I worry about it all a lot and it kind of plays into some of my other anxieties and depression, but the way she stays so positive and strong through it, especially after getting diagnosed just shortly after pretty much fully recovering from her head-on motorcycle accident, makes me think she'll be around a while. There's a lot of places though now where when somebody has a mastectomy, the insurance company won't cover hospital stay, and sends the patient home within a few hours of the procedure, still groggy and confused and unable to care for themself properly. There's a petition to make it mandatory for insurance companies to cover a 48 hour minimum hospital stay afterwards. It only takes about 30 seconds, and I'd appreciate it more than you'd know. Hopefully not just the posters on the site, but anybody who happens to read this will just do it, because I'm sure pretty much everybody has had cancer affect their lives one way or another.

tl;dr: please take 30 seconds and sign the petition for me and my mom

Aliens

arm bar

Britton, Ty, and myself used to work for a company called End User Inc. This company was owned by two guys, one of which happened to be a former NASA engineer. I can VERY CLEARLY remember a conversation I had with Rob one day at lunch with Andrew Beachuamp. The conversation was simple enough, basic work related topics and then we started asking Rob about his experiences with NASA. Turns out he worked at NASA for Apollo 13 and 14 and was telling us some of the experiences involved with a space mission.

Now let me state that Rob is not one to be a joker, or kid around, or isn't some crazy psycho. He's a well off business man with a family with conservative Christian beliefs, very business-like in his ways. Having said that, what he told us next I initially laughed at. He told Andrew and myself that NASA had known about UFOs for years, since the first space missions, and the government had always hidden that. He went on to give detailed and specific times they had seen UFOs during space missions. Andrew and I are kinda laughing, looking at each other, and we realize Rob is being completely serious. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are about 1 billion planets or so out there so I definitely believe there is life out there, but to hear and think about UFOs traveling light years and visiting earth and them being similar to what you see in the movies/whatnot was just crazy to me. But who the fuck am I to tell a NASA engineer that he's full of shit.....and frankly why shouldn't I believe a guy who got hired and worked for NASA about anything space related?

Then today I read this crazy article from astronaut and doctorate of astronautics Dr. Edgar Mitchell (who shares the record for longest moon walk at 9 hours and 17 mins) that basically says the same thing Rob told me a couple of years ago. Pretty fucking crazy....and I wouldn't even mention this had I not heard about this from two different NASA sources. The guy who did the interview with Dr. Mitchell explains how Dr. Mitchell was completely serious when explaining this, so I guess I wasn't the only one to be slightly taken aback by the story. I don't know what to even think about this....but I do know that this leads into the fact that the X-Files movie is coming out tomorrow. Some people are already saying that Dr. Mitchell is just saying this as some sort of thing for the X-files movie, but these are claims Dr. Mitchell has made for years, and I know Rob isn't affiliated with the X-files movie.....I want to believe?

www.clownpenis.fart

Summer classes are over.

www.araditracker.com has been my favorite private torrent tracker for almost 3 years now. It's not an endless archive of torrents like mininova or isohunt but it has all the newest movies/tvshows/progs/games minus bogus spyware-filled torrents.

I got my new processor in and when I booted up for the first time my power supply blew up. So 100 bucks later i'm up and going and happy with the results.

I've been keeping up with NBC's smash hit last comic standing and boy-o-boy was I(and jesus) angry when these guys were kicked off.

I wish I could write better. It feels like I can't properly express myself in text sometimes and it's frustrating. An English professor once told me I write like I talk and then handed me my F+ paper.

Nickelback's name originates from the nickel in change that band member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job- he would frequently say, "Here's your nickel back".

I Shouldn't Be Posting This..

But to whatever God you guys pray to or even if you don't pray at all (at least hope for the best), my mom has been admitted to the psych ward at St. Dominic's Hospital. My dad and my brother and her whole family treat her like she's the shit hole of the world. I used to disrespect her all the time, but I never knew it had such an intense effect. So everyone just hope my mom for the best.. My whole family has been in shambles since my wreck. My dad is divorcing my mom because she doesn't have any income, yet he told her to quit her job to take care of me. What a dick, right? I haven't even seen them kiss in 10 years.. at least. I'm going to introduce my mom to my friend's uncle, Eddie, who is cool as shit and would also like to meet my mom. I told Eddie about what my dad is doing, and he told me that he thinks my dad is a piece of shit pansy and to give my dad his address if he has anything to say. I loved it. /RANT

Also, when you're a paraplegic and cannot feel your feet while you sleep, MEAN people take advantage of you and take pictures. *cough* Mom/Lisa *cough*

Anyhow, I'm bored.. I got some good pictures that I'm going to post. I know most people aren't very thrilled about posting random pictures.. It's just that I'm proud of these pictures. They're really are some good ones of me and my old lady. I will re-edit and post them.

P.S. K4s are awesome.

/edit: I had to resize a bunch of pictures because everyone knows how cameras take big enough pictures to fill a 24" monitor. I just figured I'd show everyone some pictures that were recently taken. Sorry my posts are usually worthless lacking intriguing stories or insight.

Here's the folder.. some of you may be intrigued by some of the chicas in some of the peekchars.

Gulfport Magic

Waking up this morning without any Internet because of a power outage in the middle of the night, I just chilled on the balcony at about 6 a.m. before going to work at 8 a.m. and enjoyed the view. It's super easy to just zone out and not do anything because of this view. Watching people on the beach, the traffic, people at the pool, the ocean -- it's all better than television.

This morning to my left:
I work right beside the dome.

And to my right:
Tower 2's swimming pool.

The last few nights, the moon pretty much kicked ass. It lights of the ocean clear to the beach. I need to set my camera up on it's tripod and take some timelapse shots of that moon and see if they come out worth a damn. I will do this tonight. Yesterday, I got home and was so worn out from the prior day's skate park venture that I just crashed and slept clear until today. Well, I got up to eat cold pizza, and then I went back to sleep.

Tonight on the other hand, I have a plan laid out:
+skate park until 7 p.m. (when it closes)
+clean up condo for parental visit
+work on bike (put on new tires, maybe screw with driver)
+go see Dark Knight at midnight with prepaid ticket

Jared (aim = b3ds) claims he is going to come stay with me at some point this summer. I'll believe it when I see it, bastard. I'll only be here for a couple of months, max, so whoever is going to come live it up with me one weekend needs to come before time runs out. The only condition is that you have to haul Brittany with you here and back, provided she doesn't have to work.

David and Brit(tany or ney?) Ware are coming the last weekend of this month to go to Ship Island and to haul my girlfriend here for me. Brent and Jade may be visiting that same weekend (at max capacity). Keep in mind, there is a spare bedroom which has it's own bathroom. And when you first come in, there are some bunk beds. Other than that, there is just a couch. So I've been trying to encourage people to visit at seperate times instead of all together because of 1) limited room 2) to disable too much rowdyness 3) and seperate trips = more chances for my girl to come here, too.

This weekend, however, I will be in Jackson building up this:
Fit S3.5

Essentially, if you count my last six months in purchases, I'll basically have a whole new bike after this frame comes in (along with my 170mm Profiles w/ Ti spindle). It's a long overdue overhaul of my bike. After accomplishing a rail and a few other things, I feel like I finally deserve an upgrade. Although, nobody has to do anything to be able to enjoy a fresh new bike. I was pretty spoiled with all the nice bikes I had growing up, but I eventually learned how to ride them as they were intended to be ridden.

Annoying stereotypical questions I was asked at my first visit to the skatepark:
1) Can you do a backflip?
2) Are you in the X-games?
3) What kind of bike is that?
4) How much is that bike worth?
5) Can you grind?

I was grinding all day. That's one of the main things I was doing the entire time at the park, and a kid who was around me the whole time still asked if I could grind.

Here is the park, care of hotlinking pictures from their site. I'll take some of my own eventually, where you can see more.

The grind box with the little lip on one end of it is super fun. Stem height, slick, long and both sided friendly. There is a medium sized half pipe in back that I was having fun on even though I rarely went above the coping.

Those slanted rails are pretty scary. They are easy to get on, but they all go straight into the ground. The layout is a bit different than it was when these pictures were taken, but the ramps are the most fun to ride and so is this pyramid shaped grind that you can jump into and land on a landing out of... or you can just grind up and down the entire thing (going super fast).

That's all for now. People need to make a reservation with me and visit. There is good stuff to do down here, including doing nothing but just staring at the ocean from my balcony.

More BMX

Every once in a while, there is a video that is so good that I just have to post it on here. While I may never want to be quite as burly as this dude, I do want to be able to 360 lots of cool stuff. I setup my webcam. It's on my desk, facing the window which overlooks my balcony beach view. For those of you who don't know, I've been working in Biloxi, MS, and my work has shacked me up in this nice place.

I uploaded some pictures of my temporary work place here. I quickly took those. I'm going to be taking better quality ones later.

I got a new kitty!

I took this cat in as a rescue yesterday, somebody else had taken him in but he didn't get along with their cats so he's living with me at my apartment now.

He's super friendly and now I have a late night companion so I'm not just sitting here by myself all the time. Well, I already had my mannequin but she doesn't talk much, she just watches me sleep. The cat will just suddenly stop and stare up at the pig face and sit there for a long time, as if either terrified to look away, or receiving some sort of communication. It's kind of strange.

On May 23, I had two seizures, so I had a CAT scan and also, I have been thinking that something was loose in my back. I've had a lot of pain in my back for the past few months. My physical therapist told me that I probably had a screw loose because she could feel it. So here are two x-rays of my back and an X-ray of my skull.

-

Just figured I'd show you guys what's in my back. I wish I had x-rays of photos of my elbow from '99. Anyhow... Um. Yep. My left elbow was broken because I flipped over my handlebars while warming up to bike race. They had to rebuild my elbow, literally.. So I had surgery, and they put in 8 wires, 4 screws, and 2 plates to hold it together. I still cannot straighten out my elbow all the way. A normal elbow bends to 180 degrees. My left elbow only straightens to 165 degrees.. Anyhow, I had a second surgery and they took out the 8 wires.

Sorry to drag that one out, but I figured I'd elaborate since I was on the subject of broken bones. Too-da-loo!!!

cats!

The movie Wanted wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Whoa..

My girlfriend is awesome.

If you're eating correctly your poop will be shaped like an "S". On the same note, you should also be able to read text through a cup of your pee-pee.

What the fuck is up with the chuprachabra???

We did some rock climbing the other day in the OBED area. It was fun. Afterwords we hit up the local Knoxville skatepark and enjoyed some aggressive inline skating. I busted a couple unitys down the low rail. I stuck one on the high rail but my left boot popped off halfway down so it turned into a back slide. I'm pretty weak on my mutes so I worked on those in the spine area. It was bananas.

BMX from this weekend..

My weekend of riding started off with my tire coming off my rim. "No big deal," I thought, as I deflated the tire and tucked it back into the rim.

The next day, this awesome bubble formed:

It didn't stop me from learning feeble to 180s.

Feeble_180 from Ty on Vimeo.

Not to mention, I got a pretty nice sunburn in the process. After my tire eventually popped, I rode Toogen's bike and was trying drop down (the stairs) manual to feeble to 180 out, and was coming pretty close but I decided to wait for another opportunity on my own bike. I just need to take these feeble to 180s to a bigger ledge.

I have pictures from my sweet condo, but since I didn't bring my laptop, I can only get my pictures off my SD card the day after at work.

How much would it take for you to do a midget?

WTF?

LawL!

Anyone find a link to a clip that includes more than the little dude just keeping his tongue stuck out even after she pulls away? Priceless. Reminds me of myself when I kiss my girlfriend.

Speaking of my girlfriend, she is supposed to be nice and tan soon. But currently I believe her breasts and booty are a nice apple-red, and itching like baJesus.

Oh, I installed SWG but the server was down when I did the last step of my character creation.

Long weekend ahead: Should be some more Vimeo shit coming soon. Of what, I do not know.

Instead of moving into my apartment a week from now, I'm moving in September due to a request for my IT services to be provided on the coast for the next couple months. They'll be shacking me up at some nice condo, next to all the casinos right on our laughable beach. I will most likely be drinking bottles of bubbly next week, walking around with my beanbag hanging out, with all possible blinds wide-the-fuck-open. Not only that, I'll get to come to Jackson on the weekends like normal, so it should all be pretty good.

I will actively be scouting out riding spots on the coast. And potential Hispanic immigrant posters, to appeal to a more broad audience. I think 21fold.net needs to be a bilingual website.

Most likely, I'll have some spare room down there, so I will be accepting visitors. I'll post pictures of my temporary pad (probably actually a Motel 6 after the condo reservation falls through) when I get down there on Monday.

I'm typing this as I am late for work. But I'm not too worried about it since it's team building day and my last day in Hattiesburg for a little while. Team building day is when we all get together and just hang out; I guess it's supposed to strengthen our bond so we don't kill each other if a real disaster ever happened. Normally we have a BBQ or go bowling, but this time we will be at Jeremy's office playing Rock Band. That's what I call America's tax dollars at work. If a hurricane did come, you can bet your ass we could coordinate Rock Band groups, bowling teams, and BBQs to help out needy victims. Wait, I just work on computers... and it's not like I work for the government or anything... *cough cough*

It's rumored that apartment number seven (our apartment) downloaded the Pixies pack on Rock Band last night. Still unconfirmed: Ty could be heard singing "La La Love You" and "Here Comes Your Man"

Developing...

Bored at work, I'm going in...

For those of you not familiar with the "going in" term, it comes from online videos where people will "go in" on a subject and basically rant about it and explain what they dislike about said topic. My topic that I'm going in on today: Nostalgia Elitist. You know what I'm talking about, those people who no matter how much factual proof you provide them with they will still believe their old ways are superior. Now I'm not talking about people who like old things (such as cars for example) I'm talking about people who for whatever reason stick to certain things and then have to be a jackass about it and tell you how their way is better. Let me give you guys a couple of examples.

Example one: CD vs Vinyl
arm bar

(please note I specifically am saying CDs, not MP3s where sound quality is dramatically lost)

I'm not knocking vinyl here, if you have a badass vinyl collection then more power to you, I'd definitely want to check it out and I agree they are much more of a collector's item than CDs. But don't bring that "Vinyls have a better sound quality" or "Vinyl captures sound better than CDs" bullshit up in here. If you prefer the sound of vinyl compared to a CD then cool, more power to you, but just know that the "fuller" sound you are getting is due to ineffective recording techniques and you are picking up on a lot of distortion/surface noise/ect. Not to say any of that doesn't sound fine, but don't try to tell me it is actually higher quality, you are confusing a defection on vinyl's part as a superior trait. Common sense should tell you CDs have a higher quality sound in that a CD has a FUCKING 70 YEAR technological advantage on vinyl. You would think that a laser guided mechanism would have a little more accuracy than a needle in a plastic groove, but nostalgia elitist don't use common sense or logic, they go by "feel." They know that their vinyls are better sounding because they just know, they feel it; facts, technology, and science be damned.

Example two: Old school BMX bikes vs new

You non-bmxers won't understand this, but it applies to about half of the posters on this site so why not. The bike I had before I quit riding weighed 45+ pounds-it had a 45 tooth sprocket, a motorcycle chain, ultra thick 4130 chromoly tubing, pegs that weighed a pound a piece, triple walled rims, hell I might as well have poured some concrete in there to build up my cred (heavy bikes were the trend, the heavier the better was the idea back then). My current bike weighs half that, if not less-23 tooth sprocket, normal chain, thin tubing, plastic pegs, light as hell rims, ect. There are a ton of old school bmxers who refuse to go with the light bikes even though the technological advances in metal working/polymers have provided not only lighter parts, but stronger. My old bike used to bend and break parts all the time, I rarely break parts on my new bike. Not to mention a lighter bike makes riding more comfortable and you don't get tired because it doesn't feel like you are jumping a tank.

There are other things I could go in on, but that is enough ranting for now. I'd like to see some topics you other posters want to go in on, I could forsee some hilarious topics.

Dreaming

So yesterday I woke up from my 2 hour work nap mid-dream. I used to always wonder why I could remember some dreams and most of the time I couldn't remember dreaming at all, well turns out the reason you remember certain dreams is based upon if you wake during them or not. Now for some reason my dreams at work I can always remember because I guess 1-2 hours of sleep puts me right in the time frame to dream and wake up during them. Now my dreams are far from normal, normally they are just plain crazy with plenty of random and abstract things going on, yesterday's dream was a bit different though.

In my dream I was in front of a classroom of people, some of them my real life friends and some of them just random people. I then started to give the class a lecture about the reasoning/ideas/causes behind the start of World War II, and I'm not talking about the basic this country was allied with this country so when this country did this blah blah blah. I'm talking about a seriously in depth discussion about Germany's reasoning for war. I was a history major in college with an emphasis on post World War era Europe and had planned on being a college history professor, so I wasn't dreaming out of my ass, I knew what I was talking about. The really weird part about the dream though was that I gave about half of the lecture in German, and mein Deutsch ist nicht besonders gut (my German is not very good). Now given when I was in college I took German and I learned it very quickly and was pretty good at it, it's a very easy language for an english speaking person to pick up on because english derived primarily from german, but I haven't used it in so long I barely remember much about it.

This random dream where I suddenly remembered how to speak German and also taught a class on a subject I haven't even thought about in years reminded me of something that happened the other day while playing Rock Band. Before Rock Band I played Guitar Hero I and II and beat both on expert, but when Rock Band came out I ditched the guitar and picked up the drums. After playing the drums so long when I tried to play the guitar again I was terrible at it and could barely play any songs on hard. Then randomly one day I'm playing Rock Band with some friends struggling to play on hard difficulty when I had a mental epiphany and suddenly it just clicked in my head and I could play on expert again, was getting 98% on expert even. Coincidently (well maybe it's not a coincidence) I've been reading a book about the human brain and how your brain functions during/with certain tasks and how the neurons in your brain make certain "pathways" so to speak. If you don't use certain "pathways" often enough they will simply be eliminated as not useful, or as the saying goes "use it or lose it."

What's the moral of this story? There is none, I'm just bored as hell at work and wanted to make a post. Just thought I'd share my story of randomly stimulating a few neural connectors in my brain that I haven't in a long time. Good to know that I haven't lost much of that stuff, cause you never know when some of that might come in handy.

BMX

I haven't ridden once since Saturday. My shoulder was really sore, but now it's just my hip (from kind of hurting it before the rail, then again during the second rail attempt). Anytime I move my leg in a certain direction, it sucks. And I can't sleep on my left side. But compared to how things could be, I'm fine with it.

Here's an awesome video:

Little Devil TV -- JJ Palmere

I don't have anything to rant about or anything funny to post. Maybe later...however, I am definitely looking forward to relaxing this weekend. Perhaps a new rail can go down somewhere else, too. We'll just have to feel it out.

ICP vs Straight Edge?

I personally still throw in some ICP from time to time just because the lyrics are funny, but it's kids like these and those two that lost their baby and had an ICP funeral that make me want to make sure I never mention I listen to ICP in public. haha. leave comments!

seven words you can never say on television.

George Carlin has died.

Not much to say about that. I guess even the great people die. At least we still have people in entertainment touching the real issues. See below.

Revenge

Revenge from Toogen on Vimeo.

Ty MC rail from Toogen on Vimeo.

Well it almost didn't happen. I called it out and said no exceptions, but I almost still pussied out. Ty and I spent about 2 hours at this rail, the first hour just taking bitch runs and trying to get mentally motivated (when looking at a rail from the top and seeing how bad you could get fucked up, it takes some mental motivation). After a while I finally grew some balls and tried it, here is the wreck that ensued. After that try, the next attempt I made it.

I didn't have the video of Ty busting his ass and breaking his pedal on this rail from like a year and a half ago, but Ty had some revenge to get on this rail also. After I got my revenge it was Ty's turn to give the rail a go and eventually he grew some balls and tried it also. His first two attempts he ATE SHIT. Here they are (if you don't like seeing people crash you shouldn't watch): Wreck 1 and Wreck 2. I could have sworn Ty broke his collarbone or shoulder on that first wreck, it was viscous. When you finally nail it though, all those wrecks are sooooo worth it.

Some other little things went down like This wallride I did over a planter and this halfcab line
Ty did
but nothing could compare to the sweet revenge of getting that rail. Still stoked we both nailed it.

The Snuggler!

is it wrong that I ordered this beautiful shirt today, created by Zach, Tim, and Eric? The Snuggler is a little iffy, considering what it's a benefit for:

All profits go to The Violence Intervention Program.
http://www.violenceinterventionprogram.org/ They are an organization that helps victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and elder or dependent adult abuse. Your purchase will fund VIP getting stuffed animals to kids in need.

You know, so they have a great Snuggler too!
Love, Tim, Eric, & Zach
